A free, plain English window on the UK company register.
Companies House holds a public record for every UK company: when it was formed, whether its filings are up to date, whether any insolvency or strike off action is recorded, and who its directors are. The information is free and open, but it is spread across several pages and written for people who already know the terms.
Insolvency Tracker pulls that record together and states it in plain words, with a date on every fact. You type a company name or number, and you get a clear summary you can actually read. That is the whole product.
What we believe
Facts, not opinions. We show what the register records and the date it was recorded. We do not rate companies, we do not score them, and we never say a company is failing, risky or about to close. Those are judgements, and they are yours to make.
Everything is dated. A company's position can change from one day to the next. Every fact we show carries the date it applies to, so you always know how current it is.
Plain and free. No account, no app, no charge, and no jargon where a normal word will do.
What we do not do
We cover companies only. We do not show the individual insolvency register, personal bankruptcies, or any court judgment data. We are not a credit reference agency, and we do not sell reports. For a formal credit decision, use a regulated credit reference agency.
Who runs it
Insolvency Tracker is an independent site. It is not affiliated with Companies House, the Insolvency Service or GOV.UK. It uses their open data under the Open Government Licence. See Sources for the detail, and How it works for the way we read and word the record.
